Publicist Laura Kaufman Dies

Laura Kaufman, 66, record industry publicist and manager, died in Simi Valley, Calif., March 3.

Kaufman, at a young age and while in London, began work at management company Leber-Krebs and became publicist for clients like Aerosmith and Ted Nugent.

She left to join Howard Bloom Organization. In the ’80s, she moved to Los Angeles to become VP of media at CMC (now Sanctuary).

She recently wrote two novels, “Rock in a Hard Place” and “Birds of a Feather,” influenced by her experience.
