Taylor’s New Empire

Robin Taylor, who took Inland Empire Touring to International Creative Management in 2009, has left ICM and re-hung her original shingle in Brooklyn, N.Y.

In addition to bringing clients including Band of Horses, Modest Mouse, The Hold Steady and actor/comedian Fred Armisen to the resurrected Inland Empire, she’s quickly inked a deal with Sub Pop Records for a joint venture.

Sub Pop is the famous Seattle label home to artists including Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, The Postal Service, The Shins, The Head and The Heart, David Cross, Patton Oswalt and Flight of the Conchords.

Inland Empire Touring will retain its identity with the new deal.

“The agency will continue to operate in the same way since its conception, except now we’ll have more resources and expertise,” Taylor said. Making the transition will be agent Joe Price and Jin Moon.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Robin Taylor,” Sub Pop President/CEO Jonathan Poneman said. “She has proven her ability and commitment to successfully develop new and relevant artists over the years. We see this partnership as an exciting expansion of optional services on Sub Pop’s part.”
