The Cult North American Tour

The Cult will begin the first leg of its 2012 North American tour in San Diego May 25 at Humphrey’s Concert By The Bay.

The British rock band’s ninth album, Choice of Weapon, is due out three days before the tour begins. The release is The Cult’s first full-length album since 2007’s Born Into This.

“When we were writing and recording Choice of Weapon we had no agenda, there was no particular destination, no place to be, and no chart position to aim for,” vocalist Ian Astbury said. “We took our time, we went in, we grabbed the jewels, and stayed focused on keeping everything as fresh and as raw as possible. The new songs are a sharpened and heightened extension of everything we have ever done.”

Fans will get to hear new songs from Choice of Weapon on tour such as “Lucifer,” “Honey From a Knife” and the album’s first official single, “For The Animals,” along with The Cult’s classic tunes.
