Great Southern Blues Returns Home

The Great Southern Blues Festival will return to its original home of Narooma, a five-hour drive south of Sydney, Australia.

Its move two years ago to a larger site in Batemans Bay “never worked, for a variety of reasons,” said festival founder Neil Mumme.

Last year it was canceled six weeks out due to low ticket sales.

Veteran promoter Michael Chugg, who took over its running two years ago, was behind the decision to move to Batemans Bay.

“Despite best intentions to grow this fabulous festival by moving away from Narooma, it was met with much resistance from loyal punters,” Chugg said.

Chugg is no longer involved with the festival.
