With a poem for the title, the Grammy-winning artist’s new album – The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do – arrives in stores June 19 on Clean Slate / Epic Records.

Apple takes to the road the very next day, launching her tour at Baltimore’s Lyric Opera House June 20. Other stops include New York City’s Randall’s Island for The Governors Ball Music Festival June 24; Boston at the Citi Performing Arts Center June 30; Detroit’s Fillmore July 7; Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium July 13; Kansas City at The Midland by AMC July 17 and Seattle’s Paramount Theatre July 25. Last stop is Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium July 29.

Apple played her first show outside Los Angeles in five years when she performed at SXSW in March. The appearance was followed by a few dates on the East Coast in which she performed a few new tunes from The Idler Wheel…, including the album’s first single, “Every Single Night.”
