Broadcaster Meldrum Inducted

Veteran broadcaster and record producer Ian “Molly” Meldrum was inducted in the Hall of Fame of Australia’s TV awards, called the “Logies,” April 15 at Melbourne’s Crown Complex.

Frontier Touring managing director Michael Gudinski and singer Dannii Minogue accepted for Meldrum, who is convalescing from a near-fatal head injury after a fall at his home last Christmas.

Elton John declared in a video message that Meldrum, 66, “has done more for the Australian music business than anybody in its history.”

Multi-platinum Sony singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem revealed, “I refer to Molly as the Godfather, he always watches over me and many other artists.”

Performers at the Logies included Tony Bennett who got a standing ovation, Goodrem, Seal, Flo Rida and One Direction.
