Ted Nugent has been dropped from a June 23 concert lineup in Kentucky after Fort Knox Concert Series leadership removed him from a bill that includes REO Speedwagon and Styx, according to local media. A replacement may be selected.

Nugent drew criticism for comments he made at a recent National Rifle Association meeting in St. Louis where he made comments about the Barack Obama administration including, “We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November.” Nugent also said he would be “dead or in jail” if the current president is reelected.

The Secret Service looked into the situation April 19 and concluded it resolved.

“The meeting could not have gone better,” Nugent said. “I thanked them for their service, we shook hands and went about our business. God bless the good federal agents wherever they may be.

“Metaphors needn’t be explained to educated people.”
