The glam rock band has a good reason to dance. Its fourth studio album, Magic Hour, is due out May 29 on Casablanca Records. The follow-up to 2010’s Night Work, the album was recorded in New York and London and features guest vocals from Azealia Banks on the track “Shady Love.” Scissor Sisters also worked with Calvin Harris, Stuart Price, Pharrell Williams, Diplo and Boys Noize’s Alex Rihda.
“It was a pretty collaborative effort,” frontman Jake Shears said. “It’s really different than Night Work. That was almost a concept album. This one is a bit more of a grab-bag of music – it’s closest to our first record in terms of variety, and that board-game aspect where you’re not quite sure where you’re going to land next.”
The North American tour launches June 15 at Las Vegas’ House Of Blues. The dance party ends with two nights at New York City’s Terminal 5 July 6-7.
Stops along the way include Seattle’s Paramount Theatre June 19; Vancouver, British Columbia, at the Commodore Ballroom June 20; Kansas City, Mo., at The Crossroads June 25; Boston House Of Blues June 30; and Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club July 2.
Presale tickets are on sale now. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, April 27 at 10 a.m. EST.
