Crue Sued Again

Ron Toma has filed a fifth lawsuit in five years against Mötley Crüe, Live Nation and others for using the infamous “belt buckle” photo from the band’s 1981 debut, Too Fast For Love, that Toma claims to own the rights to.

The lawsuit accuses the parties of copyright infringement and breach of contract related to a 2009 agreement where the glam rock band allegedly agreed to “include a proper copyright notice on packaging” of song recordings and other merch.

Toma claims the photo, taken by photographer Michael Pinter, is still being used on band merch sold without his consent. He’s seeking undetermined monetary damages, profits gained and an injunction to make it all stop.
