Newport Folk Sells Out

This summer’s Newport Folk Festival is sold out three months in advance.

Festival organizers said it’s the first time tickets for the Saturday and Sunday concerts have sold out so early.

Ten thousand people are expected to attend the July 28-29 concerts at Newport, R.I.’s Fort Adams State Park.

The lineup includes My Morning Jacket, Patty Griffin and Arlo Guthrie. Tickets remain available for a July 27 kickoff concert featuring Wilco. The festival was first held in 1959.
