A quick glance at YMSB’s touring schedule reads like a festival fan’s ultimate travel itinerary, with stops at DelFest in Cumberland, Md., May 25; Hookahville, Acoustic Hookah’s annual party in Thornville, Ohio, May 26; Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, Ill., May 27; and Colorado’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival June 23.

Other festivals include Bloom Heavy’s Grassy Grumble in Grassy, Mo., June 29-30; The Gaia Festival in Laytonville, Calif., Aug. 5; Catskill Chill Music Festival in Hancock, N.Y., Sept. 8 and the Mulberry Mountain Harvest Music Festival in Ozark, Ark., Oct. 11-13.

The latest festival on Yonder Mountain’s 2012 schedule is the 11th annual Northwest String Summit. Scheduled for North Plains, Ore., at Horning’s Hideout Aug. 9-12, this year’s Summit will include performances by Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, 7 Walkers, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, Joy Kills Sorrow, Greensky Bluegrass, Elephant Revival, Danny Barnes & Scratch Track Gospel Show, Darol Anger & The Furies, BanjoKillers! Feat. Tony Furtado and Scott Law, The Deadly Gentlemen, Fruition, Pete Kartsounes Band and Windy Hill.

There’s a definite Grateful Dead theme when it comes to the Northwest String Summit Lineup. With the festival beginning on the 17th anniversary of Jerry Garcia’s passing, you can expect many renditions of Grateful Dead tunes throughout the weekend.
