Josh Groban Benefit Show

Josh Groban is putting on a special benefit show in June for his alma mater, Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.

The benefit, dubbed “An Evening with Josh Groban,” is set for June 28 in Los Angeles at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Los Angeles County High School for the Arts is located on the campus of California State University Los Angeles and serves 600 students from 80 districts throughout Los Angeles County. Established in 1985 and operated by the Los Angeles County Office of Education, LACHSA combines college-preparatory academic instruction and conservatory-style training in visual and performing arts. To attend the tuition-free public school, school students must audition for acceptance into one of four departments – music, theatre, dance or visual arts.

Proceeds from the benefit show will also go towards Groban’s Find Your Light Foundation, which the singer/songwriter/actor launched in 2011 to help “enrich the lives of young people through arts, education, and cultural awareness.”

“I am thrilled to be able to host this special performance at Disney Hall to benefit LACHSA and my own Find Your Light Foundation,” Groban said. “LACHSA holds a special place in my heart as it gave me a starting ground to nurture my craft and feel at home while in school. It was partly through this experience at LACHSA that I started the Find Your Light Foundation. It is my continuing belief that arts education and exposure in children’s and young adult’s lives help to shape them for the better.”

“An Evening with Josh Groban” is presented by Sheila and Wally Weisman and the Arts High Foundation, LACHSA’s private fundraising partner. The Weismans have underwritten musicals at LACHSA for 17 years, including the school’s 1998 production of “Fiddler on the Roof,” which featured Groban in his first leading role.

Presale tickets go on sale May 8 and the general onsale begins May 10. Tickets begin at $50. Premium tickets are available through the Arts High Foundation by calling 213-225-7586. Priced at $1,000, these tickets include seats in the front orchestra section and a pre-performance reception with Groban.
