New U.S. Artist Sales Reports
Pollstar and Nielsen SoundScan have released a new concert business data report that shows a selected artist’s physical and digital recorded music sales across all 100 major U.S. designated market areas, or DMAs.
This entirely new “Artist Sales By Market DMA” report details the total number of units sold for all the selected artist’s releases (not just the newest) during the past 12-week period, with subtotals for Physical Album, Digital Album and all individual track downloads. Click here to see how it works.
Pollstar augments Nielsen’s numbers with the artist’s last concert box office data reported in that market DMA or, if that’s not available, the last scheduled tour stop in the area. This exclusive mashup of data is only available to subscribers at PollstarPro.com and provides an unprecedented look at an artist’s popularity across the entire U.S. landscape.
This new report can be found under the Nielsen SoundScan tab on the PollstarPro home page next to the option for “Recorded Music Sales By DMA,” which is a weekly report showing the Top 100-selling physical and digital albums, and individual tracks in all 100 U.S. markets. The Artist Sales report can also be accessed via the Buy Nielsen SoundScan button at the top of every artist’s itinerary page.
Here’s an example, using Willie Nelson, of Artist Sales By Market DMA.
And here’s an example, using Philadelphia, of Record Music Sales by DMA.
Both reports are priced at $125 each on a one-off basis, or $100 each for a pre-purchased block of 10 reports.
