A Cape Coral, Fla., concert promoter is under scrutiny for allegedly writing a bad check and non-payment of other expenses related to an April 21 “Legends of Rock” concert.

A $4,400 check written to the Cape Coral Police Department to cover security reportedly bounced, leaving Lyons facing charges of grand theft and issuance of a worthless check. Lyons has since made good on the check and no charges were filed.
However, the News-Press said he still faces a charge of defrauding an innkeeper for an unpaid $1,175 hotel bill for rooms. Also outstanding is $5,862 for tent rentals, scaffolding and fencing and $3,000 to the city for stage rental, the paper said.
Lyons said he’s working with the city and the hotel to pay the bills.
