Black Keys Keep Playing
The new dates feature nearly half a dozen stops in California as well as shows in Arizona and New Mexico. The gigs are part of the rock band’s ongoing tour in support of the group’s seventh studio album, El Camino. The album was released in December on Nonesuch Records.
This week The Black Keys wrap up their second leg of 2012 North American dates with a May 19 show in Atlantic City, N.J. Before the fall tour begins, North American fans will have a few more chances to see Dan and Patrick including sets at Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Del.; Catalpa Festival in New York City; Chicago’s Lollapalooza and Osheaga Festival in Montreal.
The fall U.S. tour begins Oct. 1 in Pollstar’s hometown of Fresno, Calif. The new dates are listed below:
Oct. 1 – Fresno, Calif., Save Mart Center
Oct. 2 – Santa Barbara, Calif., Santa Barbara Bowl
Oct. 4 – San Diego, Calif., Valley View Casino Center
Oct. 5 – Los Angeles, Calif., Staples Center
Oct. 8 – Anaheim, Calif., Honda Center
Oct. 9 – Phoenix, Ariz., US Airways Center
Oct. 10 – Las Cruces, N.M., Pan American Center
“We are big fans of the band, and are honored to join them!” Tegan and Sara’s Sara said. “We’ll be doing our best to rock the hell out of the pre face melt crowd. No pyro, but maybe clothes with flames drawn on them.”
Presale tickets are available now through The Black Keys’ website. The general onsale for Santa Barbara and San Diego is May 19. Tickets go on sale to the general public for the rest of the dates May 18.
