The show, which launched in Australia in March, brings the story of DreamWorks’ 2010 film to life with 23 dragons boasting wingspans of up to 46 feet using state-of-the-art animatronic technology and large-scale cinematic projections along with world-class circus artists and acrobats. The live spectacular was created by DreamWorks Animation and Global Creations, the folks behind 2010’s No.1 grossing tour, “Walking with Dinosaurs.”

“How To Train Your Dragon Live” launches in North America with five nights in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., at the Mohegan Sun Arena At Casey Plaza June 27 through July 1. Multiple nights are planned for each city on the itinerary including Washington, D.C., at the Verizon Center July 19-22; Chicago’s United Center July 25-29, Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena Oct. 17-21; Seattle’s KeyArena at Seattle Center Nov. 29-Dec. 2; and San Diego’s Valley View Casino Dec. 5-9. The last scheduled stop of 2012 is San Jose, Calif., at the HP Pavilion at San Jose Dec. 26-30.

The dragons will also be flying over to Canada for shows in London, Ontario, at the John Labatt Centre July 4-8; Toronto’s Air Canada Centre Aug. 8-12; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at the Credit Union Centre Oct. 31-Nov.4; and Winnipeg, Manitoba at the MTS Centre Nov. 21-25.

Dates are already planned for 2013 including Sacramento, Calif., at the Power Balance Pavilion Jan. 2-6; Salt Lake City’s Energy Solutions Arena Jan. 9-13; and Spokane, Wash., at the Spokane Arena Jan.30-Feb. 3.
