The Shins Add September & October Shows

The Shins’ 2012 world tour is extended into the fall with nearly a dozen new U.S. dates, including a show in Albuquerque, N.M., where the indie rock band got its start.

The trek around the globe is in support of The Shins’ fourth studio album, Port of Morrow, which was released in March on frontman James Mercer’s Aural Aporthecary label and Columbia Records. The album is the band’s first new music since 2007’s Wincing the Night Away.

The last stop is Oct. 13 at Austin City Limits at Austin’s Zilker Park.

In addition to the new dates, The Shins announced that Mark Watrous will be joining the band on the road in July on guitar and lap steel.
