Girl Talk, Beirut & More At 2012 Musicfest NW

In addition to Girl Talk and Beirut, the multi-venue Portland, Ore., festival has booked Silversun Pickups, A-Trak, Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh, J. Mascis and Old 97’s.

A total of more than 150 acts will play the 12th edition of Musicfest NW, which is being held Sept. 5-9. The festival is presented by Portland alternative weekly newspaper Willamette Week. This year the newspaper will debut its own tech conference, Portland Digital eXperience (PDX), during the festival Sept. 6-8

Three outdoor headline performances are booked at Pioneer Courthouse Square’s  Levi’s Pioneer Stage – Beirut Sept. 7, Girl Talk Sept. 8 and Silversun Pickups Sept. 9. The rest of the acts will perform at 16 clubs across the city.

Although the majority of the schedule hasn’t been revealed yet, we can tell you that Sept. 5 features Passion Pit at the Crystal Ballroom and Hot Snakes at the Roseland Theater.

Old 97’s will play their 1997 album Too Far To Care from start to finish. The lineup also includes The Tallest Man On Earth, Helio Sequence, Yelawolf, Menomena, Trampled By Turtles, Red Fang, Swans, Purity Ring, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, and many, many more acts.

Festival wristbands and tickets go on sale tomorrow, June 1 for shows at Pioneer Courthouse Square, Crystal Ballroom, Roseland Theater and Aladdin Theater.
   
Here’s what kind of money you’ll be shelling out. An all-inclusive wristband including admission to all three outdoor shows is $125. $75 will get you a ticket to one of the three outdoor shows and a wristband for admission to the rest of the festival.
