Kornett Hooks Up With Schwenkow
Eighteen months after quitting his post as AEG chief exec for Germany, Detlef Kornett has formed a new venue consultancy company with DEAG chief Peter Schwenkow.
Verescon, which apparently stands for “Venue Research Consulting,” will advise venue owners and operators.
“The focus will be on consulting in the areas of content, repositioning, cost optimization and marketing,” according to Musikmarkt, the German music trade weekly.
Kornett reportedly said the new company has no plans to enter venue management, which would have put it in direct competition with the likes of AEG, Live Nation, SMG and Global Spectrum.
Verescon has already secured consultancy projects in Germany and Austria, although so far it hasn’t named the venues.
When Kornett left AEG at the end of 2010, he said he was leaving to meet “new challenges.”
“My task is fulfilled,” he said in a statement announcing his departure.
“The Anschutz Entertainment Group is well established in Germany. The two O2 arenas in Berlin and Hamburg and the two ice hockey teams are managed by great teams.”
