My Morning Jacket Add West Coast Dates

My Morning Jacket has announced gigs in Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho for September.

The new dates are part of MMJ’s “Spontaneous Curation Series,” in which fan club members and concertgoers help the band come up with each night’s setlist through Twitter. Fans can submit songs as far back as 1999’s The Tennessee Fire because the series will feature rarities and tunes from all six of MMJ’s studio albums.

Members of the MMJ “Roll Call” fan club will have the honor of choosing the opening song on each and every show of the tour, including festival appearances. The Roll Call members will be getting details soon on how to participate.

Fans will want to follow MMJ on Twitter to play along with “Encore Curation.” The band will send out tweets days before every show with further instructions about how to submit songs for the nightly encores.
