Storms Stop ASO

Storms in Birmingham, Ala., toppled a tent in Railroad Park June 3, canceling a performance by the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.

The 40- by 60-foot tent moved about 30 feet from its original location, according to the Birmingham News.

The wind gusts happened around 4:30 p.m., pushing over water barrels that anchored the tent, according to the orchestra, and some equipment was damaged.

Instruments on the site were secured before the storm hit. No injuries were reported. The orchestra played at the park the previous two nights.
