Man Dies In Gibson Amph. Fall

An unidentified man died after falling at Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles early June 6.

Paramedics were called to the venue at Universal CityWalk at about 8:30 a.m. after the man fell about 60 feet from scaffolding, according to KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.

No information about the man, other than he appeared to be in his 20s, was immediately available. He died at a local hospital a few hours later, L.A. coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter told the television station. His name was being withheld pending family notification.

Cal/OSHA investigators were notified of the death.

Gibson Amphitheatre GM Rick Merrill was not immediately available for comment. “Hot 92.3 Presents Freestyle Explosion” starring Stevie B was scheduled for June 8. The MTV Movie Awards took place at the venue June 3.
