Lucero is giving you plenty of chances to catch the band live this summer beginning June 20 when the band launches its tour in Carrboro, N.C., at Cat’s Cradle.

On the event side, Lucero is appearing at Metallica’s first-ever Orion Music + More festival in Atlantic City June 23. Other festivals on Lucero’s GPS include Hootenanny in Silverado, Calif., at Oak Canyon Park July 7; the Forecastle Festival in Louisville, Ky., at Waterfront Park July 13; the Bele Chere Festival in downtown Asheville, N.C., July 27; Chicago’s Wicker Park Festival on Milwaukee Avenue July 29 and Stereoterra in Beaverton, Mich., Aug. 18.

But it’s not all festivals for Lucero. The band is playing Pittsburgh’s Mr. Small’s Theatre June 24; Huntington, W.Va., at V Club June 26; Toledo at Mickey Finn’s June 27 and St. Louis at Plush June 29, plus many other gigs.

Lucero is also taking the music-video plunge, tapping director Jonathan Pekar for the band’s first-ever vid. While still in the storyboard stage, word is the video for the title track to their Women & Work album will depict the band partying alongside a lake and having a good time with their friends. That is, until they discover their van is missing.
