Blondie & Devo Announce Co-Headline Tour

The “Whip It To Shreds” tour begins Sept. 7 in Woodinville, Wash. The last stop is Sept. 26 in Chicago. 

An announcement on Blondie’s website promises that the band will play songs from its latest release, 2011’s Panic of Girls, as well as hits from throughout its career such as “Heart of Glass,” “Call Me” and “The Tide Is High.” Devo will show off its classic tunes as well as selections from the group’s first album in two decades, 2010’s Something for Everybody.

Here’s the lineup you can expect for the tour: Blondie will feature original members Debbie Harry, Clem Burke and Chris Stein, in addition to newer members Leigh Foxx, Tommy Kessler and Matt Katz-Bohen. Original Devo members Mark Mothersbaugh, Bob Mothersbaugh, Gerald Casale and Bob Casale will perform with tour drummer Jeff Friedl.

“We can’t wait to get out on the road with Devo. It’s going to be an incredible show and we’re excited to share it with our fans,” Debbie Harry said in a statement.

Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh sent in his own statement, saying, “We are looking forward to performing alongside Blondie and swapping costumes backstage.”
