“What we understand from witnesses a dispute of some sort took place inside of the actual venue and then that dispute spilled out onto the streets,” police spokeswoman Tasia Martinez told KOB-TV.

The news station has video of the crowd leaving the venue but getting caught in the crossfire around midnight June 6. A man slumps over a car and falls to the ground after being shot in the head. Several blocks were closed for hours as police looked for a suspect, according to the station.

A neighbor described the mood leading up to the shooting as joyful.

“There were people who were out singing, having a good time, then shots rang out and within five minutes the place was just swarming.”

A second person was in the hospital, having been shot in the arm.

KOB-TV footage is embedded below. Warning: video is fairly graphic.
