Universal Shuffles Management Pack

It may be too early for the company to be readying itself to take over EMI’s recorded music business, but Universal is making changes to its international management team.

Tomas Filip, managing director of Universal Music Czech Republic, has also taken over the operational responsibility for Universal Music Hungary.

“Tomas has successfully managed operations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for more than 16 years, and is the perfect choice to now oversee our Hungarian interests,” said Vico Antippas, who’s president of Universal’s Nordic, Central & Eastern Europe regions.

Krisztina Peremenczky, who joined Universal in 2000 and has been a marketing manager since 2005, has been promoted to general manager of the Hungarian office. Both appointments became effective June 3.

A week later Antippas announced that Randall Abrahams has been appointed managing director of Universal Music South Africa in place of succeeds Harry Voerman, who is retiring after more than two decades in charge.

Abrahams is a well known figure in the region following stints as a judge on leading TV talent shows such as “Idol” and “SA’s Got Talent.”
