Thai Ministers Criticize Gaga

Though Lady Gaga’s tour has mostly moved on from Asia, she’s still receiving grief from some on the continent.

Last week, Thailand’s Culture Ministry criticized the singer for what it called her inappropriate use of a Thai flag during her Bangkok concert in May. On stage Lady Gaga wore a traditional Thai headdress and a bikini while sitting on a motorcycle with a Thai flag tied to it.

The ministry said that the act was “not appropriate and hurt the feelings of the Thai people.”

Permanent Secretary Somchai Seanglai added that the ministry gave police a summary of the complaints it received over the incident, which is apparently protocol though the ministry does not intend to pursue any legal actions against the American pop singer. It’s unknown how many hurt feelings were reported.
