TV On The Radio & More At U.S. Open Of Surfing

Best Coast will be in its element when the surf pop indie rockers take the stage as part of the music series at this year’s U.S. Open of Surfing in Southern California.

Described as the world’s largest youth culture and action sports festival, the 2012 Nike U.S. Open of Surfing takes place from July 28 through Aug. 5 in Huntington Beach. After the surfing competition concludes for the day, daily concerts are held Aug. 1-3.

Presented by Converse, Aug. 1 features Best Coast and opener Walk the Moon.

Hurley presents the tunes the next night with Grouplove headlining and supported by White Arrows and Hindu Pirates.

Presented by Nike, TV On The Radio perform Aug. 3 along with opener Toro Y Moi.

“For years my brothers and I have been going to the U.S. Open to watch the competition, so to perform and hang with the best surfers in the world is such an honor to me,” said Grouplove’s Andrew Wessen.

In addition to the music, surfing and skateboarding, the U.S. Open of Surfing promises “one-of-a-kind retail and brand experiences, public skate courses, movie premieres, 100 interactive exhibits, autograph signings, DJs and giveaways.”
