The arrests took place during Williams’ gig at the Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys, Calif., June 30. Broken down, eight people were busted on “suspicion of public intoxication,” one for “suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon” and one on “suspicion of batter with serious bodily injury,” reports the Calaveras Enterprise.

Saying he couldn’t remember when they “had this many arrests” at the venue, Sgt. Chris Hewitt told the newspaper that things got out of hand when two guys were “sucker punched” while walking out of the public toilets. As of Monday morning, police were still trying to determine the cause of the fight.

However, the cause of another, unrelated altercation at the venue was a little more apparent.

“A guy attacked his friend, and punched him in the face because he thought he was having an affair with his wife,” Hewitt said.

But back to that first fight that erupted near the Porta Potties. Although the two men that were attacked declined medical attention, the Calaveras Enterprise reports that both were “punched numerous times and one was kicked in the face,” resulting in Hewitt giving the newspaper this little gem of wisdom:

“Your foot can be considered a deadly weapon when kicking someone in the head,” Hewitt said.
