Big Day Out Poised To Relaunch

After 2012 proved to be an annus horribilis for Big Day Out founder Ken West, the iconic Aussie festival has uncovered its strategy for its January 2013 return, its first year with C3 Presents.

The five-city run will announce its lineup July 16, tipped to be headlined by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

It will be the first under a partnership with U.S. promoter C3 Presents (Lollapalooza), and with Sydney-based events producer and trade publication The Music Network publisher Adam Zammit as CEO.

In cost-cutting strategies, the 20-year-old festival will bypass New Zealand, keep tickets to A$165 (US$169.30) and drop club sideshows by international acts.
