Anderson Tapped To Re-Open Paramount
Anderson started his new gig July 1. The 1,900-capacity theatre was severely damaged from Cedar River floodwaters in 2008 that broke through the 84-year-old building’s doors and glass exterior, filling the interior with water and mud.
With help from FEMA and a team of historical architects, the building is shooting for a fall re-opening, with The Oak Ridge Boys and Needtobreathe on deck in November, followed by a full schedule of touring Broadway productions in 2013.
“I am excited to have this opportunity to re-open the Paramount Theatre,” Anderson said, noting that one of his first events with VenuWorks was the Paramount’s grand reopening following a 2003 renovation.
