Kanye West Joins CAA, Leaves Azoff

Kanye’s back with longtime agent Cara Lewis but is reportedly between managers.

Lewis, inarguably the biggest agent in the field of hip-hop, left her home of decades, William Morris Endeavor, in January to join the Gotham office of CAA. The vast majority of her roster traveled with her, but West stayed in limbo, although he eventually tweeted that he had fired WME when learning of Lewis’ departure. However, he did not have representation during the “Watch The Throne” tour with Jay-Z.

CAA confirmed to Pollstar the signing July 19.

West has been in the news lately not for his music, attitude or dating but for business relationships. He made press recently with a reported management agreement with Irving Azoff, Although that was never officially confirmed, it is now said to have disappeared, according to an “in-the-know source” who talked to New York Daily News. West was said to have grumbled at the relationship, and Azoff was said to describe West as somewhat difficult.
