Sydney’s Sandringham In Receivership

Longtime Sydney live music venue The Sandringham is in receivership, in debt to Bankwest for $3.6 million.

Tony Townshend, who took over the King Street venue seven years ago and increased live showcases, tried to sell the venue last year and lease it back.

There were no takers. Meantime, monthly bank repayment rose to $48,000. Receivers Ferrier Hodgson confirmed the music will continue until September.
