Well, maybe the dates, cities and venues on his newly announced seasonal adventure won’t give you respite from the three-digit temperatures parts of the country have been enduring for what seems like forever. But perusing Neville’s routing that includes stops in the Deep South as well as the West Coast can serve as a reminder that we will experience cooler temperatures … eventually.

Neville will be touring in support of his new album dropping on Blue Note Records this winter. Produced by Keith Richards and Blue Note Records president Don Was, the album showcases Neville reliving the doo-wop days of yesteryear as he sings the songs that helped form his musical destiny.

“When I was a kid, doo-wop was like medicine to me,” Neville said. “I didn’t care what else was goin’ on in the world as long as I could sing along with Pookie Hudson and The Spaniels, The Flamingos, The Clovers, Sonny Til and The Orioles, Clyde McPhatter – I was like a kid in a candy store.”

Neville’s Christmas Celebration launches in Robinsonville, Miss., at Fitzgerald’s Casino Dec. 1 and wraps in Los Angeles at Walt Disney Concert Hall Dec. 18. Stops include Baton Rouge (Dec. 4); San Antonio (Dec. 6); Tucson (Dec. 11), Lake Tahoe (Dec. 15) and San Francisco (Dec. 16).
