KillRockStar Big Dog Sets Up L.A. Office
Australian promoter KillRockStar Big Dog Entertainment has opened an office in Los Angeles.
Melbourne-based managing director Brad Drummond said its increased presence in the U.S. over the past 12 months has “yielded great results.”
“I doubt it would be possible to overstate the importance of face time with the right agencies, managers and of course the artist themselves,” Drummond said. “Having a permanent on-ground presence in L.A. represents a great advantage and point of difference – especially for an emerging boutique company.”
The U.S. operations are headed by Derek Johnson, formerly with Media Talent Group, Creative Artists Agency and Live Nation. Johnson freelanced for the U.S. operations of BigDog Creative, its film and TV production company and marketing agency. “Derek and I managed to strike a chord and business really started to fire working together,” Drummond added.
After touring Sublime, Aqua, Showtek, Unwritten Law, Dead Kennedys, HED(pe) and Mickey Avalon in the past 12 months, KRSBDE is handling Hanson in September and Everclear in October with another two to be announced shortly.
A merger last July between KillRockStar Entertainment and BigDog Entertainment saw the company expand its services to include internal creative marketing and advertising, film & TV production, sponsorship procurement, a media publishing department and a brewery.
Drummond this month brought in artist manager Michael Panetta, founder of Melodic Music management and agency, as business development manager.
