Paleo Soaks Up The Sun
Other Swiss festivals may attract more people per day, but many in the live music industry feel the six-day, 35,000-capacity Paleo-Nyon is the country’s most prestigious.
Tickets for this year‘s July 17- 22 gathering went on sale in April and were snapped up in less than three hours, although advance sellouts are commonplace for the festival in the country’s French-speaking sector.
Wet weather has been the bane of many of this year’s European festivals, but Paleo booker Dany Hassenstein told Pollstar it was more than welcome at his event.
“It only rained for a couple of hours but it was a refreshing relief during six days of very hot sunshine,” he said.
The acts helping Paleo-Nyon enjoy an unusual dry spell included Sting, David Guetta, Lenny Kravitz, Manu Chao, The Cure, Justice, Franz Ferdinand, M83, The Kooks and Stephan Eicher.
