Ben Taylor’s new album, Listening, drops Aug. 14 on Sun Pedal Recordings / ILG. Described as incorporating various musical genres including folk, pop, urban, reggae and country western, the disc is being hailed as the worthy follow up to his critically acclaimed 2008 release, The Legend of Kung Folk – Part 1 (The Killing Bite).

While Taylor’s upcoming tour is scheduled for the fall months, the son of James Taylor and Carly Simon does have a few dates in August. He’ll appear at a record release party for Listening scheduled for Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., at Dreamland Aug. 16. Next up is an in-store performance at Bull Moose Records in Portland, Maine, Aug. 18 followed by a gig in Stonington, Conn., at Jonathan Edwards Winery Aug. 19.

The serious traveling begins in Scottsdale, Ariz., with Taylor playing almost every night until he reaches Morgantown, W.Va. Stops along the way include San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis, New York City and Nashville.
