Cheeseburger In Cincinnati

Margaritaville is going back to where it all began – for Parrotheads, anyway – as the latest link in Jimmy Buffett’s restaurant chain is expected to open in a casino under construction in Cincinnati.

Buffett announced during an Aug. 2 concert at the city’s Riverbend Music Center that a 14,000-square-foot Margaritaville will be the first restaurant in the $400 million Horseshoe Casino expected to open next spring in the Queen City.

The casino is more than 60 percent complete.

Buffett credits Cincinnati as the birthplace of the “Parrotheads.”

The term was coined in 1985 after Buffett and his band looked into a crowd at Kings Island amusement park and saw a sea of Hawaiian shirts and parrot hats.
“Cincinnati is simply where it all started,” Buffett said.
