Curb, McGraw Dispute Includes Big Machine

The ongoing contract dispute between Nashville’s Curb Records and Tim McGraw now includes Big Machine Label Group.

A Nashville court ruled last November that McGraw was free to sign with another label while legal proceedings between McGraw and Curb continue. McGraw signed with Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine May 21 and announced he’d recorded 20 tracks with his new label.

That led Curb officials to sue McGraw for breach of contract, claiming he hadn’t fulfilled his obligations there.

Not so, according to McGraw, who claimed he’d completed the albums to fulfill his contract but Curb intentionally delayed their release, according to the Tennessean.

Curb wants to question Borchetta and obtain documentation related to when said tracks were recorded.

All parties are scheduled to meet in court Aug. 17.
