Jane’s Addiction Goes West
After taking a few months off the road, Perry Farrell & Co. returned to the stage on Saturday for the Lollapalooza after-show at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom, followed by Monday’s gig in Cleveland.
The “Theatre Of The Escapists Tour” is Jane’s chance to show off material from its fourth studio album, 2011’s The Great Escape Artist, in a live setting alongside dancers and theatre actors. Earlier this year the band invited “interesting characters” including poets, actors, old-fashioned barbers, tattoo artists and speak-easy style party photographers to set the mood for the show in the lobbies of the theatres each night.
Tonight Jane’s Addiction will be in Syracuse, N.Y., at the Landmark Theatre. Previously announced “Theatre Of The Escapists” dates are booked through a Sept. 7 show in Las Vegas.
Festival appearances include Bethlehem Musikfest in Pennsylvania Aug. 9, Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festival Sept. 1 and Doheny Days in Dana Point, Calif., Sept. 8. The band will also play the Arizona State Fair Oct. 24.
The final leg of the tour takes place on the West Coast. Below you’ll find the five confirmed California dates. The date and venue for the very last stop haven’t been announced yet but we can tell you that it will be a homecoming show in Los Angeles.
