Flo Rida To Pay $400k Over Missed Gig

The New South Wales District Court ordered Flo Rida and his Australian agent Darren Ayre Aug. 3 to pay A$400,000 ($422,269) in compensation over a missed festival appearance.

Last October, the rapper pulled out of the Fat As Butter festival in Newcastle an hour before his headline set in front of 11,000.

He claimed dissatisfaction with hotel and transport arrangements, an allegation sharply denied by promoter Mothership Music.

Judge Judith Gibson evaluated the total of A$417,000 to include the A$55,000 advance fee paid to Flo Rida, the A$7,000 spent on hotel, and air and ground travel costs for the rapper and his entourage, and legal costs.

It also took in the loss of sponsorship and reputation endured by Mothership as a result, which she estimated at a deficit of A$240,000 per year.
