Trey Anastasio’s ‘Traveler’ Travels

With Phish’s summer trek once again wrapping up over Labor Day weekend, it gives frontman Trey Anastasio time to rest up and then return to the road for his solo fall tour in October in support of his new solo album.

The solo tour begins just days after the release of Traveler, which is due out Oct. 16 via Rubber Jungle Records/ATO Records. Co-produced by Anastasio and Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Jonsi), the album features the Trey Anastasio Band working with artists including Mates of State’s Kori Gardner, The National’s Bryan Devendorf and Matt Berninger, and Icelandic percussionist Samuli Kosminen.

“My goal was to create an album that used the studio as an instrument,” Anastasio  said. “I wanted to work with Peter because he is a master at creating a sonic landscape. We were hoping for a cinematic end result.”
