Sound Engineer Hopson Dies

Ed Hopson III, well-known sound engineer and production manager, died of cancer Aug. 9 in Georgia. He was 56.

Hopson is credited with bringing success to Atlanta’s The Tabernacle and Chastain Park Amphitheatre as well as on the road.

Hopson was a longtime associate of Charlie Brusco, manager of acts like The Outlaws and Styx.

Details of a memorial service and concert planned for Sept. 8 at Center Stage Theater in Atlanta are forthcoming.
