Smashing Pumpkins In Canada

The Smashing Pumpkins have announced dates for what is being called the band’s first major Canadian tour in more than 10 years. The fall excursion is another opportunity for the group to show off its new album.

The band, which features guitarist/vocalist Billy Corgan along with guitarist Jeff Schroeder, drummer Mike Byrne and bassist Nicole Fiorentino, will be playing its latest release, Oceania, in full followed by classic Pumpkin tunes and deep cuts. The performance will feature visuals from Sean Evans using new technology in video-mapping. Evans recently helped Roger Waters put together the latest staging of “The Wall” tour.

Oceania, described as “an album within an album,” was released in June as part of the band’s 44-song work-in-progress Teargarden By Kaleidyscope project.
