EDM Club To Open In D.C.

A new, flashy electronic dance club called Echostage is expected to open in a troubled northeast neighborhood of Washington, D.C., next month, taking over the large space that once was the D.C. Star club.

Panorama Productions, which puts on the weekly Club Glow parties in D.C., has leased the building, which will open with a new sound system and performances by Sander Van Doom and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano Sept. 22, according to the Washington Post.

Improvements include a better cosmetic aspect, new stage and an LED screen for the dance floor, the paper reported. Echostage will have a 5,000 capacity.

“The idea is to create the biggest concert venue in the tri-state area,” Panorama co-owner Antonis Karagounis told the Post. “Something that will be used for amazing electronic music shows, but will be able to accommodate hip-hop, R&B and rock, as well.”

The Glow events are held at the Fur Nightclub, Lima Lounge and Josephine, and Panorama has brought names like Tiësto and Avicii to the D.C. Armory.
