Auckland’s Trusts Stadium Increases Capacity

The Trusts Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, increased its indoor arena to 6,500, “providing a real sense of competition in Auckland,” according to chief executive Brian Blake.

“In our not for profit model every large show like a One Direction contributes towards improving the facility for clients, so the more large shows we do the better we can fit out the facility,” Blake added. “It’s important to us that we can deliver promoters and other clients choice in our venues, and in 2012/13 we expect to continue to bring new, client led innovations to the market.”

Situated in 11 acres of park space, the Trusts Stadium entered the commercial concert market in 2007 with sellouts from One Direction, Muse, Alice Cooper, Adam Lambert and “dozens more.”

Blake joined in 2010, bringing in specialist concert event coordinators and senior staff from major UK venues.
