Duran Duran Update

After postponing its weekend gigs due to Nick Rhodes suffering from a medical ailment, the band apologizes to its fans for the missed gigs and says it hopes to reschedule the shows within the next few days.

Scheduled to perform in New Jersey at Atlantic City’s Revel Aug. 25, Duran Duran postponed the show at the last minute after doctors treating Rhodes advised the keyboardist not to perform. In a posting to the band’s website, Rhodes said doctors thought he might be suffering from exhaustion.

Evidently Rhodes wasn’t feeling much better Aug. 26. The band postponed its concert at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE. However, according to the band’s website, doctors now suspect a viral infection could be the cause of Rhode’s ailment.

The band reports that Rhodes had been feeling “unwell for the past few days.”

The band has been touring extensively for the past two years in support of its All You Need Is Now album.

From Sunday’s update on DuranDuran.com:

“I feel completely helpless over the situation and all I can do is apologize to our fans – who I hope know that we would never let them down unless it was totally unavoidable,” Rhodes said. “This is the final leg of our world tour – and I can’t tell you how disappointed I am with this outcome.”

The band also stated on its website that it is trying to reschedule the missed shows in Atlantic City and Pittsburgh and that fans should hold on to their tickets.
