Jail For Festival Bomber
A 23-year-old who ignited two home-made bombs at a Melbourne music festival, injuring five people, was jailed for 15 months.
Sam Aniello Castellano set the two explosives off within four hours of each other Feb. 13, 2011 at the St Kilda Festival, which drew 420,000.
Two of the victims had serious injuries. One was hospitalized for two days after being hit on the leg by shrapnel, and told the judge he lost his job because he could no longer concentrate.
Another needed five stitches on her shoulder. Judge John Carmody said Castellano told him he made the bombs “for fun.”
