Cruise Promoter Folds
The Tucson Citizen reported Aug. 28 that the Better Business Bureau of Southern Arizona received 14 complaints from “consumers across the U.S.” unable to contact the Tucson, Ariz.-based company for a refund. The phone numbers have been disconnected.
An Aug. 20 message posted on the company’s now-inactive website is now posted on Facebook page “The Love Letter Cruise Ripped Me Off.”
“Concerts Cruise has asked all point of purchase vendors to honor all charge backs, even if you registered last year. Feel free to forward a copy of this communication to your credit card company,” the message said. “Every section of our website indicated that cancellation insurance was mandatory. We encourage you to use this communication as final proof of cancellation and file a claim with your insurance carrier today. Concert Cruise has gone out of business.”
The Citizen said it’s not clear who owned Concert Cruise but one employee was listed as Kwevi Quaye, owner of a company called Diaspora Group.
TMZ reported Aug. 11 that Kelly pulled out of headlining the cruise, scheduled for Oct. 1-6 from Miami to the Caribbean, because he hadn’t been paid.
