Mass. Country Fest Arrests

A country festival in Foxborough, Mass., got a little too rowdy Aug. 24-25, leading police to arrest more than 100 people and take another 466 into custody.

Most of the arrests during the New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium were for being a minor in possession of alcohol, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, trespassing and assault and battery, Foxborough Police Sergeant Richard Noonan told the Boston Globe.

This isn’t the first year authorities have laid down the law with fans at the fest. In 2009, more than 114 people were charged with criminal offenses and 228 more were placed in protective custody, leading some concertgoers to cry foul on overzealous policing.

This year’s event drew more than 110,000 fans to see Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Grace Potter And The Nocturnals and Jake Owen.
